The NESTT program was designed to coordinate and meet the psychological, legal, social, and physical needs of survivors of torture and their families and communities. NESTT is a direct partnership between Connecting Cultures and Vermont Immigration and Asylum Advocates, linking psychological and legal services. The overall goal is to provide survivors of torture with holistic, integrated and effective services in a culturally relevant, client centered context. NESTT is based on a social justice framework emphasizing community voice, while acknowledging multi-agency professional expertise, and empirically based prevention, intervention and evaluation strategies.
