The NESTT program was designed to coordinate and meet the psychological, legal, social, and physical needs of survivors of torture and their families and communities. NESTT is a direct partnership between Connecting Cultures and Vermont Law School, linking psychological and legal services. The overall goal is to provide survivors of torture with holistic, integrated and effective services in a culturally relevant, client centered context. NESTT is based on a social justice framework emphasizing community voice, while acknowledging multi-agency professional expertise, and empirically based prevention, intervention and evaluation strategies.
